Staff peers nominate their colleagues each month who exemplify the agency’s “Most Valuable Player.” This month their selection is Kidz2Success Program Manager, Kamicha Stuckey. We interviewed her for this article and here’s what she had to say:
Who is Kamicha? "There’s a variety of qualities that shape who I am. I am resilient, able to bounce back from challenges, goofy, I bring humor into everyday situations, focused, and dedicated to achieving my goals. As a big thinker, I often contemplate various possibilities—sometimes to the point of overthinking—because I am deeply committed to ensuring the best possible outcomes for me and my children. They are my greatest inspiration and motivation in all that I do."
What do you do outside of work? "A wide range of activities help me unwind after a busy week. This includes staying with my kids for a movie night, catching up on much-needed sleep, and binge-watching television shows with various snacks. I also like to go out for meals at different restaurants, experiment with new recipes while cooking at home, and occasionally take trips to the beach or enjoy a day of fishing."
What has been your favorite aspect of your job?"There are three things that I love about my job at Hope for Miami. First, the culture of acceptance within the organization. I have never worked in a place that fosters transparency, promotes teamwork, and genuinely empowers its employees. The supportive environment we create helps us all thrive. Second, I find fulfillment in being a resource for our families, community, and the staff I supervise. I love seeing how much our efforts are needed and appreciated. We make a real difference in the lives of many families. Lastly, the nature of my role ensures that every day is unique. It keeps me engaged and excited about my work, especially in our out-of-school programs, where each day brings new challenges and experiences."
