October: Substance Use Prevention Month

Hope for Miami’s Coalición Esperanza works to connect all the sectors of our local neighborhood to reduce youth substance use and other unhealthy behaviors. As well, our prevention programs participate in the annual Red Ribbonactivities the last week of October to provide workshops for youth, equipping them with the knowledge of the impact of drugs/alcohol – and refusal skills. Our prevention staff will be presenting at Key Largo Elementary, Coral Shores High School, Citrus Grove Middle School and iPrep Academy.
