The students from Felix Varela High School with special needs were treated to an end-of-the-year “prom” at Tinez Farm through generous donations from several individuals. With a Polynesian theme, students danced, ate a meal, and were entertained by some special dancers. The dance agency not only demonstrated Hawaiian, Maori, and Polynesian fire dances, but they also got the students to take part in a class to learn some new dance moves.
Thank you to Hope for Miami’s Lead Teacher at Varela, Mercy Parada, and the donors who made this event memorable. And a shout out to Varela’s Principal, Adrian Sanchez, for coming out to celebrate with his students.
